One of the outstanding things about Reality is that it eventually makes monkeys out of the arrogant and pompous (as two examples of the compendium of ill advised follies) . Having been a perfect example of this (many times), I can speak authoritatively from those experiences. Really, we can stop at any time. Its just a matter of "admitting the problem" because "that's the first step".
I am concerned that we, as a nation of "The People", need to (have needed to) spend some time in personal reflection. I really do not want to see us be reduced to such a level of absurd self contradiction that we can no longer function. It might be a better idea to choose to stop, turn off the engine, remove the keys, exit the vehicle...before we get into a worse shape.
Generally, today's young people seem to me to have some sense that their elders lost somewhere along the road. Maybe they could talk some sense into us. Not sure. Hope the rest of us would listen a bit. I would much rather take some time listening than have another "learning opportunity" served up via Reality. Those lessons tend to be not so much fun.
